Great discussion. Thanks. As a complete amateur I want to comment my thoughts but with zero expertise. I can see, however, art (paintings, sculptures, music, etc.) began with primitive techniques to capture and reflect reality but with a lack of sophisticated abilities and tools. But then it developed into incredible realism reflecting deep beauty and profound teachings from what was occurring in life and what had occurred in scripture created by god-given talented artists. I heard someone offer a proof for the existence of God as “Mozart therefore God”.
We seem to be coming full circle with art degrading to primitive status since technology allows for people with a lack of real talent and vision to become “artists”. Such a shame. But much like Protestantism itself, people claiming to be artists throwing off the yolk of authority to create whatever and claiming their own authority. You can augment this episode with a stroll down the halls of Dominos Farms.
